Catalysts, Vessels, and Change Agents

I attended a "Christian Women In Media" networking event yesterday to spread the word about the Kingdomwood International Film Festival that I'm helping to produce. At the event I was sitting next to the moderator, so it was funny to see that during the "introduce yourself and what you do" period, the majority of the women who were there went on tangents about what divine coincidence it was that brought them to the meeting or gave testimonies about the why they were passionate to do what they do.

I laughed as the moderator tried to get them to be quick about their turn to introduce themselves, but after a while as the introductions continued in the same format of a longer "why" instead of a quick "what" and "who", I was inspired by it.

It was touching to see that the default mode for a room full of women who were believers was to explain the "why" behind what they did. I think knowing and understanding the "why" is the key to doing what we do with excellence and staying motivated to do it.

When it was my turn to go, although I said who I was and what I did very quickly, because of the moderator: what I would have loved to have said was: "I'm grateful because I believe that I'm a catalyst for GOD's voice, and a change agent and an agent & vessel of God's voice. So this is why I want to be involved with Kingdomwood, this is why I want to be involved with media and sharing my voice."

I think that would've been great for a "Christian Women In Media" event, but we're all catalysts of GOD's voice. I listened to the "Jesus and Jolloff" podcast for the first time and heard Yvonne Orji say her blessings are "not because she's so special, but because she's available." It's essential to make ourselves available to the will of GOD.

We are catalysts, we are agents, We are vessels of GOD and that's what this film festival brings about to me. It's why I believe in what I'm doing. It's why I'm happy about what I'm doing. Iyanla Vanzant shared a tweet that said:

"The key to success is not what you do, it is how you feel about what you are doing."

It's up to us to Boldly be a vessel for what GOD is doing in the earth. Orji also says in the podcast" Somebody is waiting for your supply, that they didn't even know they needed."

"We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same." - Marianne Williamson

It's up to us to know who we are and be consistent in how we present who we are to the world, but also to definitely know our why? Do you know your why?

For Colored Girls, Miley Cyrus, and The Rest Of Us

Your Destiny Will Compensate You For Your Pain. ~ Max Lucado [Tweet This]

Life is a journey, not a destination, so of course we’re all subject to a wrong turn…or two, or at least however many it takes us to get on the right track. “Child star gone wrong” seems to be a new Disney theme song for most of the kids from the Hollywood hood. Some of them cleaned up their act, but stars like Amanda Bynes, Demi Levato, and Lindsey Lohan were all beating down a familiar path of adolescent madness, and making headlines for being a hot mess. Miley Cyrus is taking good care not to be an exception.
She’s the latest trending topic online for being considered a train wreck in action. She’s built a new league of haters and speculators all onboard for the ride, it seems like everybody hates on Miley now. Yes, her two little teddy bear ears at the VMA’s just made her look like the devil, but maybe she’s not. We can only hope it’s just a phase. She is just 20 years old after all…but then again most 20-year-olds don’t carry around teddy bears.
mileycyrusvmatwerk
Bear-y, bear-y strange behavior!
Is Miley acting out because of a “lost childhood”? Was the weight of juggling two lives really too much for Hannah Miley? If that’s the case then forget the haters, that balancing act was quite entertaining! She’s put in her work; she knows the struggle is real. Let the girl turn up, be ratchet, and “twerk” out her issues with the homies. Miley knows how to put on a show and all the media is buzzing, but what about the real “hood” girls whose stories go unsung, struggling to make the rent, on food stamps, and just surviving, with no “Mr. Deeds” to help them out and no President Fitz to bail them out.
Yes, she probably has issues, but until Miley gets a “Kink in her hair” the struggle of balancing fame and normality is weak in comparison to the depth of most black girl problems. However, no one can ever really ever know the pain that Miley or anyone else goes through. Tragedy is not limited to colored girls who have considered suicide. Everybody has issues. We all have our own journey and a personal “climb” we must endure. Our journey teaches us the lessons we’re meant to grow from.

G O! New Hope Baptist Church

It's Go Time! The "Grand Opening" service at New Hope Baptist Church was spectacular! The atmosphere was excellent in vision, but also in spirit. The beautiful Church facility with it's cylindrical design and two tier seating recently underwent a total redesign. At the opening of the service, media footage was shared as the workers built the church from the ground up. The arena like setting with the glorious lighting gives off a concert vibe; A concert for Christ!

Although the church is advanced and upgraded,  there is still comfort and coziness in the place for worship. Some mega churches can seem a bit distant, but the spirit of God was still actively present and heavy in the environment at New Hope. The pastor consecrated the ground material of the sanctuary with blessing oil and let the worship and the word commence.

Pastor Canton Jones, (above) a gospel artist and worship leader turned the crowd up with "Our God is an awesome God and delivered new music with an event CD: "Go Mode". Praise and worship was phenomenal, with beautiful instruments and beautiful voices, but all the grandeur was still not enough to take away from the spirit of God.

Surprisingly when the word came people were focused. There were no distracting side conversations or too much random unnecessary movement. The message was candid and delivered with clarity. Another great thing about New Hope is that for a Baptist Church in the south it was sprinkled with all cultures and races of people. The diversity was refreshing.

Guest Speaker

In the nature and spirit of "GO TIME" The guest pastor taught a  message from 2 Timothy 1-8 entitled:

" How To Make a Difference For Christ"

  1. Stir Up (v.6)
  2. Stand Up (v. 8a)
  3. Step Out (v. 8b)

Experiencing  time at New Hope church provided  exactly what it's name promises: New Hope!  It delivered  a sense that there is new hope for the church and the body of Christ! Hope that we can all get along in beautiful unison to worship God, Hope that we can and should make technological advances on behalf of the kingdom and it confirmed witness that the house of the Lord is indeed the best place anyone could be.

Even with a new facility and celebrity support, what was most praiseworthy about the Grand Opening was the theme and maxim for the event: "Its Go Time"! It is indeed Go time! for all Gods children everywhere in the world.

It's time for us to stir up the gifts God gave us, Stand Up for the word of God, and step out into the world to actively live it and proclaim it.

Congrats to New Hope Baptist Church for continually making new steps! Go New Hope, Go!

Brighter Day: Kirk Franklin

The love and peace of God makes life brighter. Sometimes knowing God is all we need to get by...

“Can you discover the depths of God?
Can you discover the limits of the Almighty?

“Your life would be brighter than noonday;
Darkness would be like the morning. -Job 11: -7 -17

The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. - Proverbs 4:18

I never knew I could be so happy, I never knew I'd be so secure because of your love life has brand new meaning. It's gonna be a brighter day...

Bishop T.D. Jakes to Host New Talk Show on BET

Bishop T.D. Jakes of The Potter's House in Dallas, Texas, has been tapped to host a new talk show scheduled to debut in the fall on BET as part of the network's move toward more faith-based programming.

Describing "T.D. Jakes Presents: Mind, Body & Soul" as "better talk," BET Networks promises that the show, airing on Sundays, will cover a wide range of issues such as health and wellness, finance and relationships.

The talk show is tied to BET Gospel programming that includes shows like "Celebration of Gospel," "Sunday Best" and "Bobby Jones Gospel." The network already airs Jakes' ministry program, "The Potter's Touch," which reaches 67 million households every month through various outlets.

BET Senior Vice President of original programming Charlie Jordan Brooks said in September 2012 that the network, which caters to African-American viewers, was "trying to bring [spiritual themes] into the fabric of our programming in general."

The Christian Post reported last year that Jakes had shot a pilot for the new talk show, although The Potter's House pastor previously attempted to develop such a program in 2009 for CBS. The network chose to can the program due to the poor economy.

Jakes, who is also a filmmaker and best-selling author, was presented with a BET Honors award earlier this year for the impact he has made in the field of education. He said during his acceptance speech, "I am grateful to God who allowed me to stumble into that thing that I was created to do.

"My destiny is to help other people reach their destiny. You must remember that real life does not begin in the light but what you do in the dark. Helping you has given me purpose, love, and life."
Jakes, whose Dallas mega-church is home to about 30,000 members, celebrated a series of milestones last year, including his 35th year of ministry. He shared with The Christian Post, who attended a major celebration last year marking his achievements, that his passion remains "empowering the next generation."

Mississippi Put Prayer Back In School

"MISSISSIPPI NOW HAS PRAYER BACK IN IT'S SCHOOLS!!!" the post going viral across Facebook, however, the thing about this news is, IT'S A MAJOR VICTORY!! (smile) America in it's current state of affairs could definitely use a lot more divine guidance. Pledging allegiance to a flag representing states united under God is a definite plus!!
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance. Psalm 33:12
Pray without Ceasing.
Mississippi lawmakers have passed legislation that would legalize student-led prayer in the state's public schools. Senate Bill 2633, which went to Gov. Phil Bryant March 6 for his signature, would also allow students to talk about their faith in the classroom and organize school Bible clubs, as well as pray at football games, graduation ceremonies, and during morning announcements.
Sponsors of the bill said that secular groups have intimidated and confused school administrators about the legality of religious expression in schools, and the law is meant to bring clarity. According to those on both sides of the issue, “Organized school prayer remains widespread in Mississippi, despite opponents’ efforts to curtail it,” reported the Associated Press. “In October, for example, the ACLU sent a letter to the Lincoln County school system demanding a halt to routine prayer at West Lincoln High School.”
The bill's proponents insist it will not force students to pray, but will enable them to do so voluntarily. But Bear Atwood, director of Mississippi's ACLU chapter, argued that students who do not wish to pray would still be a captive audience. Christianity Today quoted Atwood as saying that the new law could also lead to procedural issues and unwanted favoritism, such as with “school administrators selecting which students lead prayer in announcements or before a basketball game.”
One of the leaders in the campaign for school prayer over the past several years has been Republican State Rep. Mark Formby, who has introduced a school prayer bill every year since 2009. He said the measure is meant to dispel all confusion about what students can and cannot do in school relative to religious expression, including wearing religious-themed clothing, discussing their faith in the classroom, and voluntarily praying at school-sponsored events. “I'm not so much worried about what's allowed as what's disallowed,” Formby told Fox News. He added that he has had many conversations with parents concerned about the issue, and the bill is meant to clear the air. Formby explained that the measure “doesn't have to restore school prayer,” but it “will allow children, on a voluntary basis, to pray or not to pray.”

BOLD Testimony: Lecrae Moore

Lecrae Moore doesn't have just one powerful testimony, but many. Before the testimony of every award earned, or the almost international recognition the Rapper, Father, and Husband definitely had his share of drama.

Lecrae was saved from jail time because of a Bible He had in His car. His Life was also saved from a near fatal car crash. It was the crash that gave Lecrae the wake-up call he needed to take his faith seriously, and a conference He attended that ushered him more into his authentic groove.

Lecrae has won a Grammy, Seven Dove Awards, Three Stellars, and many more accolades, but he most probably would agree that nothing can come close to the Life He's gained through Christ. Check out Lecrae sharing his exclusive and personal testimony, in his own words with a few verses in the mix.

In the video, the artist explores how the "Gravity" of God's love brought him back to the reality of His purpose, passion and the aim for his music.

Motivation: 3 Ways To Prosper In The New Year

Social Media and Pop Culture were still buzzing over the week-end about the documentary "Life Is But A Dream". One powerful exclamation by the executive producer and star of the documentary, Beyonce Knowles when she appeared on Oprah's "Next Chapter", was her concluding that each of us should understand how every event of our lives are connected.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.- Romans 8:28
The big deal about the movie was that we all got to see new and private moments in the life of the celebrity, but there's only one moment that matters most in every one's life, Oprah's Favorite: "The Aha Moment"!

After every moment of her personal YouTube to the world, and the title forming clip for the movie when she exclaims God's glory, before jumping in the freedom and purification of water, it's safe to say Bey's conclusion and  life lesson for the film is ultimately this:

"Life is [God's] dream, We have to "connect the dots" of how they line up with our purpose, and continue to walk 'BOLD'ly in it!"

This is a truth that's fundamental to adhere to, the choice not to is eventually futile. It's still important to hear other peoples experiences."  At the beginning of 2013 I made a video that chronicled the purpose and history of Breath Of Life Daily. Three of My greatest lessons  or "aha moments" from 2012 were shared. Stay Motivated!!

Lessons From Breath Of Life Daily (2012) Review

1.) Take Action.

Words do count, but most of the time action matters more. Actions themselves are a form of speaking, and they do speak louder than words. At the end of the day what someone established will last a lot longer than what they said. This is a lesson I really had to take to heart being a Writer and in the publishing field. Sometimes we even feel like if we just "thought" about something we've actually done it. There has to be consistent work effort to achieve our goals. People won't always remember what we said, but what will always remain is what we did. What monuments and legacies are you building?

2.) Stay Organized.

Being so busy "taking action" can sometimes be time consuming, and if we're not good managers, we will neglect the small details or fall behind in the minor maintenance of our life. Good Time management is a major benefit. We have to know how to allocate and assess whats important for our lives if we want to succeed in purpose.

3.) Honor God.

We can be the best managers ever but still some things in life are out of our control. It's best to trust God in everything! Communication counts, and it clarifies purpose much better.

Go Forth In God's Love!!!

Singer Rihanna Donates Millions to Hospital

Robyn Rihanna Fenty is truly "shining like a diamond". Her name is a most precious gem in mass media coverage about so many different aspects of her life. However, her light beamed extremely bright on the residents of  the country of Barbados last December.
The "Diamonds" singer, 24, donated $1.75 million to a Barbados hospital in memory of her late grandmother, Clara "Dolly" Braithwaite, who died in June. She visited the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown along with her mother Monica Fenty and Dolly's husband Lionel during the Christmas season.
In a statement to E! News, Rihanna said, "This was my way of giving back to Barbados, in a form of philanthropy, by assisting the QEH in its continued modernization program ... I believe that this will have a huge impact on the people of Barbados. This was all done to save lives or at least extend them."
Her generous donation, which led to the radiotherapy department at the hospital to be renamed the Clara Braithwaite Centre for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine, has paid for vital pieces of medical equipment.
Rihanna broke the news of Gran Gran Dolly's death on Twitter in July, writing, "Goodbye #grangranDOLLY get your beauty rest until I see you."
Giving back is always the best way to truly shine!!!

Christianity IS The New Sexy!

As we approach February, the month American culture romances the idea of love, more spiritually relevant faces are shining in the lime light. Biblical scripture reads: "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."*  and that's exactly what a lot of spiritual leaders and innovators are doing.

February's issues of Ebony and Essence

Bishop T.D Jakes and Iyanla Vanzant's faces blazing on the covers of popular magazines this month made the way, the truth, and the life much more appealing. It's Absolutely sexy to be Christian and American media needs more affirmation of the fact and more examples like this.  Despite earlier predictions Oprah Winfrey's Network (OWN) has taken has become a ratings success.
Rick Warren, Author of "The Purpose Driven Life" was also recently in TIME magazine giving some fresh advice. With such great role models, it's definitely time for more Christians to unashamedly come out of the closet, and uncover the light for the world to see more of  God's glory.

"Why Being A Christian Is Hot"  by April D. Byrd

Heads turned as President Obama’s face shined on the cover of Newsweek, blatantly crowned in the glory of a colorful halo. Such an image makes it official that it’s never been more acceptable to take a stand for who you are and what you believe. The big announcement that shocked the world will undoubtedly make “coming out” more widespread, so instead of being judgmental, why don’t more Christians get on the fence with standing out and taking pride in and for what they believe? Despite all the pastoral turmoil, this year has been a proactive and reputable year for faith. Recently, a lot of heavy hitters have openly come out.
According to Jet Magazine, Bishop T.D. Jakes rise “from the pulpit to pop-culture” is what works. Recently Actress Meagan Good opened up to several Media outlets professing her faith, and controversial rapper Nicki Minaj expressed to “Nightline” that God was her hero. Even Mega-church Pastor Jamal Bryant jokingly proclaimed Tim Tebow the thirteenth disciple, as the Pro football player stunned the world with statistical signs and wonders. There was also surprisingly, much ado when Billionaire Media mogul Oprah Winfrey confessed Christ during one of her ‘Lifeclass’ tours in NYC. And after news of Rihanna “living her life for God” the string of events only further proclaim: It’s OK to “come out”.
Seventy Six  to eighty  percent of Americans consider themselves to be Christians. However, as the world, especially the United States is now in such a perpetual debate over what lifestyles are acceptable, regardless of what opinions will come and go; all those who stand unflinching for what they believe are winning. What truthfully works will stand, no matter who endorses it. However, the lifestyle of faith is making a major impact, not only in spiritual circuits, but now in mainstream media. Last year Gospel artists Mary Mary were truly “something big”. It seemed like every time we turned on the TV they were on it. Among other things they dominated major events like the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Ceremony and now they have their own reality T.V. show, becoming the first Gospel artists to have a feature show on a non-faith based network.
Mary Mary’s unconventional, yet uplifting sound has opened the door for a new generation of Gospel artists to top the Billboard charts like Flame, Lecrae, and the family group Forever Jones. Beyond pop culture, Jesus culture will definitely always be hot in entertainment media. Overall it’s been a good year for faith, and faith is a good value for life. A sense of knowing who you are and standing firmly for your beliefs has never been more popular. Sex sells, but confidence sells better.

27 Ribbons In The Sky

Yesterday December 17, 2012 Everyone was urged to wear Green and White in memorial of the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut. Sandy Hook Elementary school colors are green and white. I saw the post a day before on my facebook page and had every intention to find whatever clothes I could put together that were green and white, but with so many other priorities on my mind I got dressed... off to pay my car note  in a silver and blue striped tunic dress and some jeans. It didn't hit me until I was in the car that I was supposed to be wearing green and white.

They are ribbons in the sky.
At that moment a great Idea popped into my head: "stop by the store and make some green and white ribbon, pin it on your clothes."  Awesome! OK brain! I most certainly will do that...just then another great idea popped up: go a step further make green and white ribbons, sell them in front of Walmart $2 a piece; goal $500 and donate the funds to the United Way Connecticut's Sandy Hook account. That is most Awesome! "I thought to myself". So I dropped everything I was doing whatever plans I had for the day and proceeded to go raise this Sandy Hook money. Even though I work there, WalMart told me I needed an official letterhead to do such a thing at the store. Bummer! Off to Salvation Army I went, only basically to hear the same thing. It was kind of disheartening, but I do still plan on achieving that goal in some way.

While at the Salvation Army location I did meet some good people. One named Rebekah who shared with me a poem that was e-mailed to her regarding Sandy Hook. The Poem I thought was Amazing, got my very own copy, and made sure she sent it to my e-mail. Even though I didn't accomplish what I set out to, The poem touched me and I had big plans for it: To Tumblr it goes!...but why stop there?

"11 Days Before Christmas"

We were all shocked and stunned as the reports from the Newtown,
Connecticut massacre were covered over the weekend. I read this parody
of “Twas the Night Before Christmas” on Facebook - written by Cameo Smith, Mt. Wolf, PA. Read and may it bring comfort to you.

“‘Twas 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
When 20 beautiful children stormed through Heaven’s gate.
Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air,
they could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
They were filled with such joy, they didn’t know what to say.
They remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
“Where are we?” asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
“This is Heaven,” declared a small boy. “We’re spending Christmas at
God’s House.”

When what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their Savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
Then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
And in that moment was joy, that only Heaven can bring
Those children all flew into the arms of their King
and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus’ face.
And as if He could read all the questions she had
He gently whispered to her, “I’ll take care of mom and dad.”

Then He looked down on earth, the world far below
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe
then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
“Let My power and presence re-enter this land!”
“May this country be delivered from the hands of fools.
I’m taking back my nation. I’m taking back my schools.”
Then He and the children stood up without a sound
“Come now my children, let me show you around.”

Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran,
all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
And I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
“In the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT.”

The Grace Behind The Victory

I just couldn't see America with Someone else as President, just couldn't see it. God is wise. Though Obama supports some policies that Christians don't support, the great thing is America knows that God is in control. Barack Speaks hope, vision, and wisdom and without such we know that people perish. This re-election is one of Grace, and I hear the voice of God saying: My grace is sufficient and it has been extended to you once again. So Many are logged on tonite and filled with enthusiasm, and If we have done this...made it our mission to make sure that we VOTED. We can make it our mission to honor God with all that we are. With this victory grace has been extended to this nation and each individual in it! Utilize this moment in history, don't take it for granted. Let's truly honor the intention to Go forward! Today is a New Day! God Bless!

Keep The Hurricane Sandy States In Your Prayers

Rains, floods, and high winds are bearing down in eastern cities, as Hurricane Sandy moves northward with about 60 million people in its path and seems set to collide with two other weather systems to form one of the worst storms in the U.S. Tens of thousands of people evacuated from their homes Sunday. Christian charity Salvation Army said it was mobilized to serve.

With top sustained winds of 75 mph with higher gusts, Hurricane Sandy was moving toward north at 14 mph with its eye swirling about 425 miles southeast of New York City early Monday, according to the National Hurricane Center.
With hurricane-force winds extending up to 175 miles from the storm's center, Sandy is expected to bring life-threatening storm surge, coastal hurricane winds and heavy Appalachian snows to the mid-Atlantic coast, forecasters warned.
The storm is still on track to become a historical storm for the mid-Atlantic and southern New England with New Jersey and New York City bracing for "very dangerous conditions and catastrophic damage," said Alex Sosnowski, senior meteorologist at AccuWeather Inc. The impact from Sandy will reach hundreds of miles from the center of landfall, including areas well inland and well ahead of the storm's landfall Monday night, he added.
States of emergency remain in Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and a coastal county in North Carolina.

#TeamJesus2012

Jesus said "When I am lifted up from earth, I will draw all men unto me...."  -John 12:32. If we wanna see a better America it needs to be filled with people who understand their divine purpose and value in the world. It's not about  Obama or Romney it's about God ultimately  and our voting should reflect which candidate most closely values and honors the standards of God. This should be the only sense of bias influencing our vote.

As much as I  love Obama's eloquent speech, there is no way he should automatically get the Black American vote just because he identifies with the culture, the same goes for Romney. Because politics is not a black and white thing, it's all about Red. The blood of Jesus that was shed so that each individual could have purpose and freedom.

America won't get better until there arises a candidate who truly supports this agenda. Jesus died so that we may have life more abundantly, I'm sure liberty and the pursuit of happiness is in that abundance.  The words engraved on the liberty bell are "Proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof": -Leviticus 25:10, but true liberty will never come if we don't acknowledge the creator with everything we are as individuals first, and united citizens apart God's nation. If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. -2 Chronicles 7:14

The structure of America has changed with technology, growth, & industry, and that's appropriate, but the values of Holy scripture remain the same,  they should should still be honored, certainly by the country whose birth was strongly influenced by them. It seems as though America has squandered away her freedom rights, especially financially, but her strength was never based on money, it was always liberty. If America was born to be a refuge, it was initiated with a people who knew : There is no fear in love... -1 John 4:18

Perfect love drives out fear, and perfect love is in divine purpose. So, what truly matters is the Individuals who adhere to divine purpose. Scripture says 'If "my" people who are called by my name... True freedom is in the hearts of those individuals who understand that their liberty is in the purpose of God for their lives.

Be Careful, Not Anxious: Communication is the Key to Success

The phrase goes "More money, more problems" in actuality all of  it comes in order and lines up on purpose. When you elevate to the next level of growth in your life, next level things come. When you increase in popularity your haters are increased as well.

Haters being those negative voices and influences that want to bring you down. One day while browsing through twitter, I came across a tweet by Oprah. The tweet was simple as this:

As I clicked on the hashtag and researched exactly what she was referring to. I came across some very negative tweets and comments made in her direction that I'm sure she must have came across in her timeline/interactions. My first thought was "wow! How rude". If those things we're said to me I probably would have cried or got offended at the least, but I'm sure Oprah herself is no stranger to this negativity. Being on such a large caliber as she is, she probably comes across more negativity than she would like...as we all do. But, that's the point God gives us what we can handle. When we are at a certain level of life, (hopefully) we've learned how to deal with certain things by the time of great success.

So many people want fame and glory, but don't see the increased negativity that comes along with it, especially if it's not used properly. Also having an "Anointing" will cause you to suffer some interesting things anyway. My point is as individuals we are where we are, for a reason and in the process of working our way up is how we grow. We have to really work to achieve success and that work shows us what we're made of. It builds strength. Don't want so bad to be at a higher position too soon, because you don't know what all comes along with that position.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (Philippians 4:6)

Communication with God is imperative so often as Americans we are bombarded with images of fame and glory...and we want to live that life we consider to be the American dream. But God has his own dream for us. We should communicate with Him to see what the very best interest for our lives are, and what direction we should take.

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." (Jeremiah 29:11)

Most of the time what has gotten me into trouble in my life is wanting to do so many things with the talent God has given me and not knowing exactly how to organize and execute those attributes to serve my purpose, but communication is key. If we expect to get anywhere we must use our faith to get us there. We have a voice of support on our side to give us direction in everything. Faith is for the journey. There was a tweet that caught my attention as well, but for more powerful reasons Joel Olsteen summed it up in under 140 Characters:

At a level of increased wealth and affluence the tension is much greater, but Communication is Key, don't be anxious for anything. Be Careful, trust that you are in the right place at the right season in your life and if for some reason you feel you're not, Go straight to the source of all your abundance. Communicate with God. Stay focused on His Positive voice in the midst of all your haters, always.

BOLD Testimony: Claressa Shields

As the Olympics has come to an end, I'm sure there are many triumphant stories that we're born from humble beginnings. There's no way to share them all, but to commemorate the end of the Olympic season, today it's Claressa Shields whose story is being featured. It definitely stands out.

Shields won the gold medal for the U.S. boxing team and is the Youngest boxer to ever win Gold.

Just a few short hours before her gold medal bout, 17-year-old boxing phenom Claressa Shields tweeted from the London Olympics scene, "God is awesome!!!"

About an hour later, she tweeted, "I don't even need my gangsta music today.... I'm already ready to handle business!"

Soon after, it became apparent that Shields certainly was ready, defeating Russia's Nadezda Torlopova Thursday to claim the only gold medal for the U.S. boxing team (men and women) while becoming the second-youngest boxer ever to win gold.

"I don't even know that this is real right now," said Shields to a crowd of reporters after her match. "I'm surprised I didn't cry. This is something I wanted for a long time."
Her life story and young career, already the subject of a documentary being filmed in her hometown of Flint, Mich., and various fight locations, including London, is one that many observers view as an epic script for a Hollywood movie.

"In the bowels of the F.W.C. Berston Fieldhouse in Flint, Mich., with old equipment when it was there and makeshift gear when it was not, Claressa Shields worked," wrote Sports Illustrated boxing analyst Chris Mannix after Shields' gold medal win. "There was no promised payoff, no hint that boxing would elevate her to a better life. Yet since age 11 she was there, nearly every day, battering heavy bags until they split, sparring with boys because there were no girls who could go rounds with her."

B.O.L.D presents "Let A Hater Starve©"!!

Promote the people that Support you, not your haters.

Let A Hater Starve© is a Social Media Campaign designed to give individuals a venue to promote all the supporters in their lives and break free from any kind of hatred whether it was self-induced or from the person's past. It's about celebrating the people in our lives that do support us and do truly have our backs. Also, to make a fresh start erasing all the hurt we may have felt in the past from a hater by forgiving them and ourselves to be free from the hate.

August 8, 2012 is the Official Launch date of Let A Hater Starve©. The number eight being a number of fresh and new beginnings.

I always hear people giving a shout out to their haters... Why is that? and stop that!

Most people that hate on you only want your attention anyway. Don't give it to them, e.g: "Let A Hater Starve!!© "Now this sentiment "Let A Hater Starve!!©" comes with no Malicious intent at all. The bible says we should love our enemies as we'll as our friends. You can love your enemies, but you don't have to promote them!

"But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect." (Matthew 5:44-48)

Basically, we should not only love people because they love us, or hate people because they hate us that just shows instability on our part. In the end no matter what anyone says or does We have a father that loves us with a perfect love, so we should embrace that above all and let it flow in every action.
