Wande Releases New Video For "They Didn't Know II" Single

Gospel Rap Artist Wande recently released the visuals for her new single 'They Didn't Know II'.  Check out the Video Below.

 # # # # #

"The lyrics in Wande’s new single, “They Didn’t Know II,” celebrate young, bold, and unashamed Christians and talks through personal challenges she experienced early in her faith. “Many people don’t know how powerful making a choice to follow God is,” shares Wande. “Choosing Christianity at a young age changed my life and music for the better. I’ve discovered that when God fights for you, you move different! When you’re on your faith journey, especially when you’re young, it’s hard for people who aren’t on it with you to understand the transformation you’re experiencing. In the lyrics for her newest single, “They Didn’t Know II,” she rhymes, “They be thinking I’m crazy, but look what He did. I gave Him my life He changed how I live. So yeah, I’m unashamed Romans 1:16…Saved me at a young age started from the teens, now my real-life way better than my dreams.” Still, one day, you’ll be able to say like Wande, “This is who I am,’ I am not going to apologize about being unashamed to follow Jesus."

Despite the global COVID-19 pandemic, she’s had a successful entry into the industry.
Her single "Blessed Up" was selected by Michelle Obama for Spotify playlist. “Woo” was featured in the viral marketing campaign for Apple’s iPhone 12 mini which garnered over 4.5 billion views on TikTok.

Her afro-beat influenced, “Come My Way,” (ft. Teni, Toyé) from Reach Records' Presents 116 Summer '20 Playlist was featured in ULTA’s SoundCloud campaign. Cultivating a relationship with the beauty retailer is important for Wande who is exploring launching her own beauty and fashion line. Additionally, her music streamed in the WNBA’s 2020 Draft promotion, Lena Waithe’s BET Production “Twenties,” and her song “Be the Light” ft Evan & Eris was also ESPN’s Music of the Month feature.

Her single, "Don't Worry Bout It" ft Atlanta based up and coming rapper, Porsha Love, was nominated for "Best Spiritual Record" at the A2IM Libera Awards. Wande is a 2X Libera Award Nominee. The music video for the single went viral on Facebook with over 1.5 million views in 45 days and the single is already at over 2.2 million streams.

You can stream “They Didn't Know II” now everywhere here.

1K Phew & Lecrae Announce New Collaborative Album, 'No Church In A While' | Release Single "Wildin" [Video]

Gospel Rap Artists Lecrae and 1KPhew are releasing new music, and it's together.

[Jackie O & Co Release] A new breed of artists are taking the trap sensibility and elevating it into a new sound called “Street Gospel,” a term coined by Atlanta based Reach Records artist, 1K Phew. 1K Phew’s smooth delivery, swag, and evocative vocals have an infectious quality that is streetwise yet commercially viable.

NO CHURCH IN A WHILE Cover Artwork

Reach Records president and co-founder, Lecrae describes Phew’s sound as hip-hop that is equally at home in the club or the church. “Our artists at Reach Records are continuing to prove that faith can exist beyond the pews of the church if expressed authentically. Rappers like 1K Phew are carrying forward the torch we lit with ‘Let The Trap Say Amen’ using their music to reach hip-hop heads with a spiritually that’s not forced or foreign to them.”

1K Phew’s new project collaborative album with Lecrae, No Church In A While, features 10 tracks including: “Wildin” “Ready Or Not,” “Move It,” “One Call,” “What We Gon Do,” “Amen,” “Blockhead,” “Born Sinner” “Save Us,” and “No Church In A. White.” Lecrae was recording his mixtape, Church Clothes 4, when it occurred to him that people actually hadn't been to church to even put on those church clothes in a while because of the pandemic, church hurt, and other reasons.

The concept for their collaborative album, No Church For A While grew out of their conversations. “No Church In A While has all types of meanings,” expresses 1K Phew. “We just went through the pandemic and ain’t nobody [go] to church in a minute. This album is for everybody who ain’t been to church or connected to God in a while who thinks they can’t go back. It ain’t really that deep. God is waiting for everybody to tap back in. No Church In A While is telling people there’s still hope, you can still turn to God no matter how long you’ve been away.”

Pandora Celebrates Gospel Music Heritage Month with Jonathan McReynolds, Tasha Cobbs Leonard and more.

Pandora celebrates Gospel Music Heritage month during September by honoring the genre’s roots with two ways for listeners to experience the exuberant spirit of Gospel music.

Pandora’s Gospel Radio station will feature a soul-lifting mix of the biggest hits, powerhouse vocalists, spine-tingling choirs and unforgettable church classics in Gospel music. Listeners can share in the good news with artists like CeCe Winans, Tamela Mann, Marvin Sapp and others who embody this American art form with roots deep in family, faith and freedom.

Pandora is also launching a special Gospel Roots Mode on Gospel Radio (out today), which allows listeners to tap even more deeply into the root of Gospel music. Hosted by Grammy Award-winning gospel artist Jonathan McReynolds, Gospel Roots features icons like Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Tasha Cobbs Leonard and others sharing the stories and anthems that have shaped their lives. McReynolds, known for his emotive and uplifting pop and R&B-infused sound, will set the tone for an engaging exploration of the power of gospel and its impact on almost every genre of music that exists today.

McReynolds says, “I’ll never forget just growing up those first few Sundays, being the church musician on the south side of Chicago. At some point, as we began to lift our voices and sing, it was as if the music and the piano was playing me, I was just along for the ride. I’ll never forget. Gospel Music Heritage month is a time to reflect on the music and ministry that got us here.

Gospel is the music of hope. It’s church music, an American art form which is a testament to the universal appeal that both inspires and entertains across racial, ethnic, and geographic boundaries.

This Gospel Music Heritage Month, Pandora wants you to join them as they honor the universal sound, soul and spirit of gospel — the superstars, emerging artists and the unforgettable, soaring choirs — that will only be found on Pandora. Where gospel royalty reigns.

Not Your Average Hope - #BOLDPodcast | Video

"All He wants for us is All I want for you, So let's go higher." - Mali Music

I woke up today with a song in my spirit, it happened to be the same song that Mali Music had to sing.  "a song about hope, a song about faith" As you might imagine there was inspiration that took place.

As I dived more into prayer, I was inspired even more about what it means to have true "hope". I decided to share this dissection, rant, revelation in this BOLD podcast episode: Not Your Average Hope".

My prayer is that it empowers you like it did me not only have "hope", but walk in it for real. Enjoy!

Scripture references in episode:

Let us not grow weary in well doing  for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. - Galatians 6:9

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. - Jeremiah 29:11-14

Gospel Rapper Lecrae Going Into 2021 With Two Grammy Nominations

Lecrae. Bold Journal
credit: schure media group

Multi Grammy Award-winning platinum selling artist, Lecrae, has received two 2021 Grammy Award nominations this year. The first in the category of Best Christian Contemporary Music Performance/Song for “Sunday Morning,” featuring Kirk Franklin. The song is featured on his ninth studio album, Restoration, which was released his own imprint, Reach Records on August 21, 2020. Guest features also include John Legend, YK Osiris, Jozzy, Dani Leigh, Marc E. Bassy, BJ The Chicago Kid and more.

“When I set out to record Restoration, I was sharing my journey to help heal others. I wanted to show you my scars as a proof that wounded people can heal,” explains Lecrae. “This Grammy nomination is a testament of the journey! It’s an acknowledgement for anyone on the road to restoration, and encouragement for those just beginning. It’s bigger than me! This is for us all and I’m honored!”

His second nomination is in the category of Best Gospel Performance/Song category for his feature on Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins’ Allstar gospel benefit song, “Come Together,” written by Jerkins (who also produced the song), the late LaShawn “Big Shiz” Daniels, Jazz Nixon, and Lecrae. Proceeds from the song benefited two organizations: MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund and Compassion International who are providing emergency aid to those in the music community most affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Lecrae is a co-owner, founder, and President of Reach Records, a trailblazing Atlanta based independent label. He is a successful businessman, investor, philanthropist, and platinum selling artist who has sold millions of albums and won countless of awards. He released his first album in 2004 independently on Reach Records and by 2008, he was the first Christian hip-hop artist to reach #1 on Billboard’s Gospel Charts. His freestyle on BET’s Hip-Hop Cypher in 2011 solidified his name in the industry and brought mainstream attention. Lecrae’s 2012 album, Gravity, won a Grammy for Best Gospel Album marking the first time a hip-hop artist won honors in that category. By his seventh album, Anomaly, Lecrae would make history yet again with the first album at the top of both the Billboard 200 and Gospel Charts simultaneously. It debuted at No. 1 on both charts in 2014.

The quarantine and the pandemic of 2020 hasn’t slowed Lecrae’s stride. After releasing his album in August, two months later, he dropped Restoration: The Deluxe Album, adding 6 additional new songs and a lineup of features including Rapsody, Ty Brasel and Reach Records artists Andy Mineo, Hulvey, Wande, WHATUPRG, and 1K Phew. Through his partnership with 3 Strand Films, he also released a three-part video narrative, The Road To Restoration, a teaser for his forthcoming documentary.

A New York Times best-selling author, Lecrae has authored two books! His first, Unashamed and the second book, I Am Restored: How I Lost My Religion, but Found My Faith available now everywhere. If things couldn’t get any better, he recently landed two songs on the new Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales video game, “This Is My Time” (featured on the trailer) and “Where We Come From” which can be hard on the original video game soundtrack.

“Restoration is the idea that something broken can return to its original form or even better,” explains Lecrae. “The Restoration ecosystem started with a journal. I wrote the word Restoration on the front of at the lowest point in my life. As I started my restorative process, the word on the front of my journal became the theme for the entire ecosystem: the album, book, and documentary. A big part of the restorative journey is the belief that change will come.”

'Kierra Sheard Hits #1 On The Charts With 'It Keeps Happening' Single

Many believers know what Kierra Sheard means when she says "It Keeps Happening!"  I would say it's about experiencing the power and miracles of GOD through the relationship with the Creator made possible through Jesus Christ as the Bible reads. Experiencing this power in our personal lives is Amazing! The relationship with GOD as we know will have us witnessing great things for our purpose!

Kierra broke down exactly where the inspiration for the song came from in the official video which features her testimony. Check out the official video below:

Kierra Sheard  expressed how this is for believers in a song and hit another #1 milestone with the hit.  As the GRAMMY® nominated and Stellar Award-winning inspirational artist and actress garners #1 on the latest Billboard Gospel Airplay chart for her single “It Keeps Happening.” The hit song marks her first #1 single at Gospel radio as a solo artist, and her third #1 overall on the Gospel Airplay chart.

Co-writing the track with her brother, producer and songwriter, J. Drew Sheard, II, “It Keeps Happening” is featured on Sheard’s #1 album KIERRA (Karew Entertainment / RCA Inspiration), which debuted at #1 earlier this year on both the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart and the Billboard Top Christian/Gospel Albums chart in April - where her album unseated Kanye West’s album Jesus Is King from its six-month position at #1 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart.

Praising God in recognizing the constant blessing and covering He provides every day, Sheard delivered an elevating live worship experience when she performed “It Keeps Happening” for the first time before a sold-out crowd at her live recording in Detroit, MI at her hometown church, Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God in Christ.

The fifteen-track album continues to showcase her unmistakable songwriting talents, with other featured studio and live tracks including featured appearances from Missy Elliott, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Sir the Baptist, Le’Andria Johnson, Todd Dulaney, and her nephew Jacob Sheard.

Kierra Sheard says, “It Keeps Happening was birthed out of personal conversation with God. The song is a personal declaration that has manifested over my life and I am overjoyed that it is blessing the world.”

Have you ever had moments like the one Kierra shares in her testimony? Do you have a relationship with The Spirit through Jesus Christ?

If not, pray this quick prayer today to get started on your journey:
"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior."

If you prayed that prayer you're on your way to having miracles that "keep happening", but more importantly being in a relationship with the GOD over the universe that causes all things to fall in your favor in purpose!
