Motivation Music: Lecrae and 1K Phew "MOVE" [Video]

Ayye! It's a bop!

You can do a jig or whatever you want to do, but the single "Move" by Lecrae and 1K Phew will definitely have you "moving it".

The single is from their latest collaborative album No Church In A While.

Besides the production on the song with beats that will get you moving, both Lecrae and 1K Phew spit a few catchy bars on the track.

"Say a prayer on the floor like it's War Room," 1K Phew spat referring to the popular 2015 Film.

In addition to sly verses like "I got the light on me can't lose it" and "light of the world 'til The King is back." The duo came in hot with the rhetoric.

Both rappers shared an unashamed flow for the song that works brilliantly. Check out the official video below to get you moving.

watch the official video below:

"Move," is said to be a fan favorite from the album. The video directed by Jerrell Green & Caleb Seales was filmed in Atlanta, GA.

It finds 1K Phew and Lecrae recreating the drill sergeant scene inspired by the 1995 film, Major Payne, starring Damon Wayans and Karyn Parsons. 1K Phew whipping the Unashamed Army into shape and Lecrae puts them through the drills! 1K Phew & Lecrae Announce New Collaborative Album, 'No Church In A While' | Release Single "Wildin" [Video]

Gospel Rap Artists Lecrae and 1KPhew are releasing new music, and it's together.

[Jackie O & Co Release] A new breed of artists are taking the trap sensibility and elevating it into a new sound called “Street Gospel,” a term coined by Atlanta based Reach Records artist, 1K Phew. 1K Phew’s smooth delivery, swag, and evocative vocals have an infectious quality that is streetwise yet commercially viable.

NO CHURCH IN A WHILE Cover Artwork

Reach Records president and co-founder, Lecrae describes Phew’s sound as hip-hop that is equally at home in the club or the church. “Our artists at Reach Records are continuing to prove that faith can exist beyond the pews of the church if expressed authentically. Rappers like 1K Phew are carrying forward the torch we lit with ‘Let The Trap Say Amen’ using their music to reach hip-hop heads with a spiritually that’s not forced or foreign to them.”

1K Phew’s new project collaborative album with Lecrae, No Church In A While, features 10 tracks including: “Wildin” “Ready Or Not,” “Move It,” “One Call,” “What We Gon Do,” “Amen,” “Blockhead,” “Born Sinner” “Save Us,” and “No Church In A. White.” Lecrae was recording his mixtape, Church Clothes 4, when it occurred to him that people actually hadn't been to church to even put on those church clothes in a while because of the pandemic, church hurt, and other reasons.

The concept for their collaborative album, No Church For A While grew out of their conversations. “No Church In A While has all types of meanings,” expresses 1K Phew. “We just went through the pandemic and ain’t nobody [go] to church in a minute. This album is for everybody who ain’t been to church or connected to God in a while who thinks they can’t go back. It ain’t really that deep. God is waiting for everybody to tap back in. No Church In A While is telling people there’s still hope, you can still turn to God no matter how long you’ve been away.”

Gospel Rapper Lecrae Going Into 2021 With Two Grammy Nominations

Lecrae. Bold Journal
credit: schure media group

Multi Grammy Award-winning platinum selling artist, Lecrae, has received two 2021 Grammy Award nominations this year. The first in the category of Best Christian Contemporary Music Performance/Song for “Sunday Morning,” featuring Kirk Franklin. The song is featured on his ninth studio album, Restoration, which was released his own imprint, Reach Records on August 21, 2020. Guest features also include John Legend, YK Osiris, Jozzy, Dani Leigh, Marc E. Bassy, BJ The Chicago Kid and more.

“When I set out to record Restoration, I was sharing my journey to help heal others. I wanted to show you my scars as a proof that wounded people can heal,” explains Lecrae. “This Grammy nomination is a testament of the journey! It’s an acknowledgement for anyone on the road to restoration, and encouragement for those just beginning. It’s bigger than me! This is for us all and I’m honored!”

His second nomination is in the category of Best Gospel Performance/Song category for his feature on Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins’ Allstar gospel benefit song, “Come Together,” written by Jerkins (who also produced the song), the late LaShawn “Big Shiz” Daniels, Jazz Nixon, and Lecrae. Proceeds from the song benefited two organizations: MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund and Compassion International who are providing emergency aid to those in the music community most affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Lecrae is a co-owner, founder, and President of Reach Records, a trailblazing Atlanta based independent label. He is a successful businessman, investor, philanthropist, and platinum selling artist who has sold millions of albums and won countless of awards. He released his first album in 2004 independently on Reach Records and by 2008, he was the first Christian hip-hop artist to reach #1 on Billboard’s Gospel Charts. His freestyle on BET’s Hip-Hop Cypher in 2011 solidified his name in the industry and brought mainstream attention. Lecrae’s 2012 album, Gravity, won a Grammy for Best Gospel Album marking the first time a hip-hop artist won honors in that category. By his seventh album, Anomaly, Lecrae would make history yet again with the first album at the top of both the Billboard 200 and Gospel Charts simultaneously. It debuted at No. 1 on both charts in 2014.

The quarantine and the pandemic of 2020 hasn’t slowed Lecrae’s stride. After releasing his album in August, two months later, he dropped Restoration: The Deluxe Album, adding 6 additional new songs and a lineup of features including Rapsody, Ty Brasel and Reach Records artists Andy Mineo, Hulvey, Wande, WHATUPRG, and 1K Phew. Through his partnership with 3 Strand Films, he also released a three-part video narrative, The Road To Restoration, a teaser for his forthcoming documentary.

A New York Times best-selling author, Lecrae has authored two books! His first, Unashamed and the second book, I Am Restored: How I Lost My Religion, but Found My Faith available now everywhere. If things couldn’t get any better, he recently landed two songs on the new Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales video game, “This Is My Time” (featured on the trailer) and “Where We Come From” which can be hard on the original video game soundtrack.

“Restoration is the idea that something broken can return to its original form or even better,” explains Lecrae. “The Restoration ecosystem started with a journal. I wrote the word Restoration on the front of at the lowest point in my life. As I started my restorative process, the word on the front of my journal became the theme for the entire ecosystem: the album, book, and documentary. A big part of the restorative journey is the belief that change will come.”

Lecrae Partners with Love Beyond Walls To Help Homeless in ATL Amid COVID-19

Multi Grammy Award-winning platinum selling artist, Lecrae has partnered with
lovebeyondwalls.org to plant portable hand washing stations around the Atlanta
Metro Area for homeless and displaced people to clean their hands in response to
Coronavirus (Covid19). The initiative kicks off 10am on Thursday March 19th at
Love Beyond Wall’s Center located at 3270 East Main Street, College Park, GA
30337. Lecrae will join the Love Beyond Walls team at 10am to begin assembling
the sinks after which they will be filled with water, loaded on trucks, and distributed
to key locations frequented by the homeless in the Atlanta Metro Area.

The initiative was developed by Terence Lester, executive director of Love
Beyond Walls, an organization whose mission is to “restore dignity to the homeless
and poor by providing a voice, visibility, shelter, community, and grooming and
support services to achieve self-sufficiency.” Lester who was once counted amongst
Atlanta’s homeless is now founder of Love Beyond Walls and pursuing his PH.D.
in Public Policy & Social Change. “We’re excited to have Lecrae be involved with
our work at Love Beyond Walls because he understands the importance of restoring
the community and affirming the dignity of those who are unseen. Lecrae
understands that it takes both faith and action to provide real restoration in our
communities and world. Jesus washed feet, now we have an opportunity to wash
hands and provide that same type of restoration in a modern way.”

“I’ve been following Covid19 quite intently since it’s become a pandemic and first
and foremost, I want to remind people THIS IS NOT THE END!” shares Lecrae.
“While we can heed The Center For Disease Control and Prevention’s
recommendation to stay away from others who are sick, avoid crowds, and properly
wash our hands, I can’t help but think about those living on the street who have no
way to bathe or wash their hands. People who may eat, sleep, and congregate so
close to each other that social distancing is not possible. Partnering with Love
Beyond Walls is my way of doing what Jesus did which is serve humanity. I’m
humbled to support the work of organizations like Love Beyond Walls who help,
serve, bring light, love, peace, and restoration every day.”

Lecrae was recently recognized at The Georgia State Capital for all the work that
he’s doing in the community. For more information about Love Beyond Walls visit their official website: https://www.lovebeyondwalls.org/

It's Time To Use Your Talents

As a Media Producer and Host of multiple Gospel influenced platforms, I was excited to potentially be hosting the Red Carpet for the Stellar Awards event, as it is one of the Biggest nights for gospel music.

I'm not gonna lie I was actually distraught that they hadn't reached back out to me yet, as it was getting to be closer and closer to the show date. However, like I was saying in BOLD podcast "Light In The Darkness" I'm very resilient and I was gonna make the absolute best of that situation regardless of that outcome with the credentials.

I was still preparing and making sure I reached out to them directly. Anyways, I feel like I was on their radar, because I did receive the email that they had postponed due to the coronavirus news that's circulating. I actually wasn't expecting them to cancel, but I do understand why they did with it being an event of such a huge magnitude.

As much as I felt a little crushed, I was very encouraged by a lot of the social media posts that
I saw young christian influencers make in response to the coronavirus news. I really appreciate them, and I'm also even more inspired now. I'm fired up.

I initially came across Krystal Lee's post on Instagram. She's a radio personality on the gospel station here in Atlanta, Praise 102.5 She also has a brand Girl+God, so she's a CEO. she posted a picture of an article with a headline that said "Coronavirus will bankrupt more people than it kills and that's the real global emergency".

Then she goes on to caption the post "The Media Wants You In A Frenzy, but I want you to get to work". She continued in the post about the gifts and talents that GOD has given us and why they're so important for such a time as this!

I love her post and honestly the very thing she's saying is truly what I begin to realize after initially being in reaction mode about the Stellars, and then talking to my mentor/friend Kim.

A lot of the posts by young Christian influencers were uplifting throughout the day. P4CM "Passion For Christ Movement", a spoken word event for creatives that's similar to The InterSession posted a scripture of consolation on it's platform. Psalms 91: 10-11
"No evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go."

Christian Hip Hop Artist Lecrae shared a very beneficial Infographic on his Instagram page. The post shared specific news about the details of COVID-19. This allowed a lot of people, including myself to have greater clarity about what's going on with this virus.

A post shared by lecrae (@lecrae) on

Another Influencer Pastor Jonathan Richardson shared a pretty powerful LIVE broadcast on his Facebook page how sometimes fear can be disguised as wisdom.

Truthfully in another social media space that I'm in somebody said 2020 has really been agressive so far, and I would have to agree with that. The thing is there is good potential that things will only get worse as the world continues.

I don't say that to be the bearer of bad news but to be the bearer of light. NOW is the time to build your ark. Now is the time to strengthen your arsenal. Talking about preparation, I was reminded about Noah who was obedient in faith and used the insight GOD gave him when things got shady in his community, kinda like things are right now in the U.S. Genesis 6 says Noah had a good relationship with GOD.

The chapter says Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. So as we know the Lord instructed Noah on how to prepare in that season. Noah used his skill and what he had to work with. What special gift or talent has GOD given you that you can use? Be encouraged. Whatever that vehicle is for you, If you haven't already build it. you can build it. So, What are you putting in your ark, what's in your arsenal?

I also thought about another influencer who did some preparing in a time when things weren't looking so good, Joseph! Joseph went from being a Prisoner to a President. He was basically in charge of everything there was to be in charge of. Joseph had spiritual gifts and insight, He had bomb administrative skills.

So, we could say he had special talents. His talents were so prominent, and he used his talents so well in service to GOD, that Pharaoh asked his officials, “Can we find anyone else like this man so obviously filled with the spirit of God? That's what your gift making room for you and bringing you before great men looks like, in action.

So prepare and build now! Right Now! Now is definitely the time to walk by faith and not by sight.

If you're scared and feeling any fear about this virus news, redirect your thoughts to GOD's word and pray. 2 Corinthians 10:5 says: "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

Nothing, not even coronavirus formed against you can prosper. If you are feeling any type of symptoms and fearful about that, go get checked out. It's better to be prepared than sorry.

Prepare yourself by strengthening your immune system. I have green smoothies like almost everyday now. Get into your greens, they help! Protect yourself. Do be precautious since the warning is out.  All the hygiene stuff that you already do, do more of it.

Scripture says theres a time for everything. Lecrae posted a meme the other day that said "but have you prayed about it?" Pray to see what GOD's report is for you concerning the matter. When we cultivate and maintain a good relationship with GOD we're allowing GOD to prepare us. I honestly have been in this process of having a more active, intentional relationship with the Creator. This is after being in natural relationships and not seeing my worth.

I'm so grateful that I'm getting to a place where I'm seeing the gifts GOD has given me and I'm not trying to be anybody else or getting in anybody else's lane.

By insight from the spirit to maintain a relationship with GOD better, more intentionally, I was able to see my worth and my value better and the more my self-worth increased and I stopped settling for whatever isn't in line with GOD's will for me, the better off I'm becoming and I recognize that and I'm grateful for it and it is a process.

Submit yourself to the voice and will of GOD so that you can be prepared. How do you know the voice of GOD, it's a voice that's always for your greatest good, so far beyond your temporary satisfaction. Get wisdom. Get in the word and get in relationship with the Creator.

Since I've submitted to the processing and preparation Now I'm in a place where I'm learning where my personal strengths are, what I'm good at. I've done Writing, Social Media Content Creation and Curation for so long. I'm really seeing where I can help other people and put that gift to good use. I've launched BOLD Expressions Co. I have guides and webinars. Now that demand is being met. I can help Entrpreneurs, I can help Gospel Artists and brands, because I've been prepared GOD is showing me the gift and the avenue.

I'm actually offering a 30% off special for the First E-guide. 5 Mandatory Tools To Level Up Your Social Media Marketing and there will be more to come because people will be on Social Media a lot more, since more people are staying home.

I'm not only sharing this information as a shameless plug, I'm sharing it to say that in seeking GOD's will. I see the vacuum that was created, now I'm in demand, now I'm an asset with the gift GOD has prepared in me.

Will I be going to Vegas for The Stellars this month? No. but will I be taking advantage of some of these discounted airfare rates for some business meetings? Most probably. Tis the season to use your talents and meet great life-changing opportunities!

How is this coronavirus news affecting you? What are your thoughts on it, and more importantly what are you gonna do in this season to prepare?
