How To Find The Good Place You're Looking For


There's a place of peace that can be obtained and maintained. Don't believe anything different.

As believers, we have an obligation to stay in safety. If we leave out of The Lord's safety because of sin. It's on us.

We're instructed to abide in The Most High:

"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me." - John 15:4

If we're not abiding then we're putting ourselves in danger. 

 "He that digs pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaks an hedge, a serpent shall bite him." - Ecclesiastes 10:8

A hedge is a covering of protection, and we know the wages of sin is death. When we sin and break away from The Most High's commandments we're only digging our own grave.

It's best to cut off and kill sin, before sin kills us. 

 "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:" - Colossians 3: 5-6

If we're in any type of evil or sin, we can't dwell or Abide with The Most High:

"For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee." - Psalm 5:4

If we do well, flee from sin and seek The Most High's will instead we will be in a good place. That good place is obtaining mercy from The Lord. It's standing in favor and righteousness. The good place is the place to abide.

It's National Suicide Prevention Week (September 5th-11th) and two-time Grammy Award-winning artist and New York Times best-selling author, LECRAE, shares that he too has suffered from crippling depression. 

In a riveting video posted on his YouTube channelLecrae, a survivor of sexual, verbal and physical abuse reveals that in 2018, he woke up after a night of binge drinking in a clinical depression. He also shares how he dealt with deep wounds from his childhood and the journey that has led to his personal restoration!

Self-Care Starts In The Kitchen - Red Table Talk Recap


Have you seen the latest episode of Red Table Talk? Honestly, this is maybe like the second episode of the show that I've watched all the way through, but it was definitely awesome that food and health were at the forefront of the latest episode.

The ways and things that what we eat can contribute to anxiety, depression, and other illnesses in us that we sometimes only blame trauma and negative experiences for. 

Food is Medicine. Food is also information. What we consume is such an important part of our lives. If you haven't seen the latest episode of Red Table Talk, I would strongly advise you to do so. It definitely opened my eyes and re-lit the health conscious fire under me.

Rise Above It – 4 Ways To Release High Stress Situations

Let’s face it, dealing with people and life situations can be stressful. We know about eating, drinking, or trying to sex it away like Solange tried to do. We can only pacify ourselves for so long, the results only lead to more distress and disease, but how can we release stress in a healthy, progressive way? A few of these tips should help:


Breathe Intentionally
Take focused intentional  deep breaths in and out, do this repeatedly. There is no cap on how many times it can be done. Do it enough times for it to be effective. Do it until your thoughts are completely focused on your breathing and not on the situation. Inhale good vibes, exhale bad ones.
Practice gratitude
In the heat of a situation when the stress of the moment is heavily searing your mind, make a focused effort to redirect your thoughts on what is going right, whatever is working and going good for you right now. There are plenty of things to be grateful for even if they are simple. Those are the best ones. There’s a Scripture reads “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.” Doing this helps you preocupy your mind on good and increase your good vibes.
Talk to a Mentor or Therapist
Problematic thoughts and emotions left unchecked, eventually turn into problematic actions which only causes more stress down the road. By all means make sure those thoughts are expressed audibly. Vent to someone who actually has wisdom. If you’re fortunate enough to have a mentor link up with them and talk about the situation. A therapist or coach are other good alternatives. Don’t hold it in, if you’re stressed, sad, frustrated etc. Have a little talk with somebody other than Jesus about your troubles.
Freestyle Dance It Out
Dance it out. Sometimes bussing a move, over a bomb groove is all you need to release negative energy and create positive vibes. The combination of breath, gratitude, and expression it takes to move is a perfect relief, even if for a moment. Exercising is said to release stress, but if exercise isn’t your thing, just straight up dance. Go for it! Dance freely and whenever you can.
