Resistance Will Adjust To Reach Target
Recently I started to realize that growth requires breaking through resistance. If you're the first in your family to accomplish something, or the fact that GOD gives us a mission for us specifically to execute as individuals means we have to break through comfortability.
It's up to us to relenquish old ways and old habits and grow. You can never level up in any area until your character does. GOD has been dealing with me about character a lot lately and it's been coming through in my actions and everything I've been getting entagled in to show me where I really am. The realization that the areas that require growth and understanding are met with resistance in order to elevate to the next level was recently confirmed through some gym equipment with a similar message: "Resistance Will Adjust To Reach Target".
I couldn't help but to share it on Instagram in that very moment...
Everything that you have your sights on, the dream/goal that you're working toward for the kingdom will be met with resistance. Growth is evolution. You're pushing through all the dirt that has surrounded you to be emerged into the light of new life. Your "level up" requires your full attention. their will be distractions , but the intentional effort, focus, and overcoming will be WORTH IT! Praise GOD consistently and stay committed through the process.
Building Spiritual Muscles For Your Breakthrough
This morning I thought about how I gave up my gym membership because it wasn't currently in the budget and all the amenities that particular gym, came with in comparison to another gym.
I had really started slacking in exercising on purpose anyway before I cancelled it, but later in the morning as I was in corporate prayer at church and the bishop was talking, I realized not only should I be thinking about building physical strength and fitness, but how taking time to build spiritual strength is even more important to be considered in terms of investing in it and maintaining it.
"The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding." -Proverbs 4:7We talk about "Breakthroughs" so much in spiritual and church conversations. It's like a buzz word that's thrown around a lot, but we should consider that there is real faith and action put behind them most of the time. Faith doesn't work, without work.
"So, also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." - James 2:17
Building spiritual muscles, just like building physical muscles takes prayer, faith combined with action, dedication, and time invested. What we don't know and what we don't do can can hurt us, and it usually does!
However, taking the time out to increase strength. Is totally life giving! Praying and obeying GOD's will is not for GOD, it's for us. Invest in it at all costs!
DISCLAIMER: There is nothing we can do in ANY of our own strength without GOD. Building up spiritual strength means seeking GOD's will first and exercising the mission we receive in prayer to execute. When we try to do so much in our own physical strength we will get burnt out and eventually lose motivation.
Breakthrough requires that we get out of our comfort zone. Take time to Pray, study, and be BOLD in executing GOD's will through your life.
Speak To Your Mountain
It's extremely easy to feel the pressure of a tight situation when you're surrounded by it. Trying to keep up with bills, get out of debt, and live a productive life can get heavy sometimes.
It's important to practice gratitiude every day, because everyday we get to see is an honor in itself. If you haven't been through much, consider the fact that everyday is a gift, Some people no longer have the luxury of life.
This morning as I was driving (another blessing), the pressure of entrepreneurship and freelancing life almost got me down. That often happens when we're focused on what we see as problems, and not on GOD. Just at the point when I was about to go into a familiar "worry, panic, woe is me mode" I thought about everything that GOD has brought me through and over in my life. My whole attitude changed. If we think back on all the times made a way for us when times get rough, theres no way we can stay in a place of worry, regardless of any situation.
After all this, a familiar song that I love came to mind: "For Every Mountain" by Kurt Carr & The Kurt Carr Singers. This song is so powerful! For Every Mountain you brought me over, For Every trial you've seen me through, For Every blessing... for this I give you praise.
Then right after that song got stuck in my head the podcast I listen to by Dianna Hobbs came across my phone and happened to be named: Speak to this mountain. The coincidences of GOD are always timely! So I just wanted to share that no matter what struggle you might be going though, have faith that all mountains can be moved and give the fight over to the mountain mover!
“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23“Trulyf I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them." - Mark 11:22-23Make it blessed day today!!
Pray From A Place of Faith
Pray from a place of faith not fear. In the same vein, Give from a place of fullness not lack.
It came to me that in the past, sometimes I've sought to share with others, from a place of lack wanting to be liked or accepted by people. Feeling like people could provide validation of some sort.
The truth is we should give because there's an overflow of what God has given us. The gifts, understanding and blessings that we have in abundance is what we're supposed to give out of. Even if that's just having faith from your experiences to share.
Fear of loss, or any type of fear is not the best point to pray from. It shows that we think whatever problem we're facing is bigger than GOD. The great news is that nothing is. Pray from a place of trust, adoration and confidence. Whatever the situation is the King is in control.
Who is the King of glory?
The LORD strong and mighty,
the LORD mighty in battle.
-Psalm 24:8

5 Essential Tools To Increase Your Spiritual Wisdom
At times multiple worries, anxieties, and to-do lists can weigh down on our spirits. Staying positive will usually help provide the solutions we need. Wisdom is the key! Worry and stress do not belong to us. If worry or anxiety is looming around in your thoughts, just send it back to hell where it’s from! Wisdom is so powerful and so worthy nothing can touch it. When we put down worry and pick up wisdom, we reap the benefits:
- Take Some Time Out To De-stress
“Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.” - (Proverbs 3:16) Wisdom makes life easier by helping us to stress less and providing enlightenment. Less stress equals longer life, medical reports will gladly back that up. Wisdom also holds wealth and honor, in modern terms that's fortune and fame. Not the fame that causes you to be exploited and ridiculed, but the one that causes favor and admiration. Worry has no results, but negative ones. Jesus once asked: "Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?" The answer is NO! Wisdom on the other hand, holds Long life and Honor. Schedule a time to get centered, to study scripture and proverbs.
2. Secure The Wisdom Before The Bag
You Better Ask Solomon! Solomon from the Bible chose wisdom over everything. 2 Chronicles 1:7-12 Because the King chose wisdom, God blessed him abundantly with wisdom and everything else he didn't ask for including riches, wealth, and honor. Wisdom rejoices in truth, it is the empowerment serum for the soul. It made Solomon's reign better and as a bonus he received the things that wisdom itself possesses. Wisdom is more valuable than any worldly thing we can ever clamor to possess.
3. Leverage Scripture To Level-Up
Wisdom can upgrade you way better than Beyonce’! Because wisdom rejoices in truth, it helps eliminate unnecessary drama. The word says put wisdom first and you'll be promoted. A wise person is a blessed person. Wisdom is the key to fulfillment on so many levels. Wisdom can upgrade us better than anyone can claim or sing. Scripture says wisdom preserves us, keeps us, promotes us, honors us, gives us grace, and delivers a crown of glory and that's only the half of a scripture. We can do more with wisdom than we can ever do without it.
4. Seek Satisfaction In Truth
That snickers bar isn't what you're really hungry for. We can search for validation and try to fill our emptiness with temporary fixes all we want, but it will never be enough. Even the best bread can't compare to wisdom: "Why spend money on what is not food, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare." - Isaiah 55:2 Wisdom is sweeter than the honey on a honeycomb. "I have not departed from your laws, for you yourself have taught me. How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path." - Psalm 119: 102-104 Hungry? why wait! Start digging into your word!
5. Replace Worry With Wisdom
There's a difference between wisdom and standard knowledge. Wisdom is more enriching. in Matthew 6, Jesus instructed people to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. The kingdom of God is filled with wisdom, and wisdom is filled with everything essential. Worrying about absolutely anything is useless. Wisdom is the antithesis of worry, and it's the actual cure. In the end, It doesn't matter if we have it "All Together" or even if everything looks right, with wisdom on our side we can’t go wrong! There's no need to worry when we walk in purpose, the word says God will supply our needs according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus. Follow your purpose passionately and leave the rest to God.

3 Ways To Declutter Your Mind
It's time to get clear and stop tripping. You know it, but how is your emotional environment? Is it free and clear of toxins that might weigh you down? whatever those toxins may be: other people, emotions, feelings, thoughts. etc.
Whatever is not in service to your purpose, it's vital to let go.
"Therefore let us also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us." -Hebrews 12:1
Ancient wisdom says "lay aside", in other words throw away everything that weighs us down or causes us to trip. I recently came across an article that came from the perspective of treating our thought process just like we treat our inbox. We can organize the same way by following these steps:
Filter
First off, there are standards and metrics that we can set every thought that we have against to measure if they're worthy or not. Is it pure? is it excellent? is it honorable? and so on. Philippians 4:8 Whatever thought doesn't align with this standard or the promise that God has shared, KICK IT OUT! Don't allow it to take up space in your mind.
Delete
Delete all the old negative thoughts and replace them with good thoughts. Any lie that we have held on to, or believe to be true can be replaced. We can renew and refresh our minds just like we clear the trash bin and spam from our desktops. Romans 12:2 Some thoughts don't renew us, they just restrict us. The way to avoid the darkness is by exposing our minds to light. Light and darkeness can't fit in the same space, there will either be one or the other. Continually pray and aim to expose your mind to what God says first, always.
Unsubscribe
Just like in our inboxes, even if we delete a "message" or correspondance if we're still subscribed to that source, it doesn't matter how much we hit delete we will continue to get the crap we don't want. Unsubscribe for your issues or anybody else's that don't help you evolve and pay full attention to where the solution is. Proverbs 3:5-6 Subscribe to the truth in God's word, it will make things so much more clear.

Jump Start Your Confidence And Move Beyond Failure
It's December 31st, at 11:58pm. Before the ball drops, you are mentally going over all the last minute goals you have decided will not follow you into the new year. "I am going to be nicer", "I will lose 15 pounds", "I am going to make more at my job". By January 5th, the one coworker no one likes was rude to you first, there was chocolate cake in the break room from a party, and there goes your calorie count for today. I think this has happened to the best of us.
Statistically only 8% of people who create new year resolutions are successful. Why is that? I believe that the part that we let bother us most is that we failed at our goals, which makes us give up entirely. It is okay to fail, it is not okay to allow that failure to deter us from the ultimate goal.
Perhaps you began to fall off the wagon a bit with your goals. In order to recommit to your goals you must understand a few things:
1) Things may have gotten in the way where you lost focus on your goals and today is as good as January 1st to recommit. There is no better time than the present to reconnect and become committed again to your goals.
2) You deserve to live out your dreams and nothing is worth putting it off forever. Whether it is January 1st or July 20th, your dreams are yours for the taking today!
3) Slow progress is better than no progress. Make attainable action items to accomplish with your goal. You will begin to feel better when you begin to take definite action towards your goal and move forward.
4) When you accomplish your goals you will feel better about yourself and your purpose in life will be magnified. It is not only about the weight loss, negotiation skills, or being kinder...it ultimately is about accomplishing what you set out to complete. With each new goal accomplished you learn more about yourself and what you are truly capable of.
5) Recommitting to your goals will jump start your confidence to keep moving forward. It is a confidence boost to know you will and CAN do whatever you set your mind to.

3 Ways To Build Your Resilience
By: April D. Byrd
Yesterday my Pastor, (who's brother had just passed away the same day) talked about resilience. It was very powerful! " As a character trait, Resilience is the mental ability to recover quickly." She spoke on the importance of developing emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence helps us to recognize our own emotions, identify the emotions of others and how to handle them, and diffuse conflict.
It increases self-management: being able to manage our emotions in a healthy way. It also helps build social awareness and relationship management. Emotional intelligence can help your performance at work and also benefit your health. She shared a few steps to emotional intelligence, but not all. and I was able to write some down, such as:
1. Learn how to relieve stress.
2. Accept the circumstance that's happening.
3. Develop flexibility.
When we learn to take a leap of faith, and and how to let go of emotions that make us uncomfortable, we find ourselves. Even though outwardly nothing is consistent, we can find consistency inside of ourselves. All information received to the brain comes through our senses, when information is overwhelming, instinct takes over. We can bring our emotions under control through Christ, and building our emotional intelligence. We can't yield to the will of emotion, but conquer it through understanding. "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all your getting get understanding."-Proverbs 4:7 Also remember being strong doesn't always mean we have to be tough. Water will softly touch a rock, but slowly wear it down over time. For me that illustration of water brings to mind our hearts being in the right hands, at the right time. God has given us resilience to overcome all things The king's heart is like a stream of water directed by the LORD; He guides it wherever He pleases. -Proverbs 21:1 Continue to pour up love and be guided and directed by it. Love always wins.

5 Ways To Be More Confident
I finally spoke in front of a large crowd of individuals! It was certainly nerve-racking, but exhilarating. I received great feedback, which made me think...why? Honestly, I'm shy, introverted, quiet, or at least I was. Now I am more confident and empowered. I didn't wake up and become a "natural" on stage. Nope, but I followed a process to continually improve.
I am sure that if you committed to taking the time to improve, you could also become more confident in your life. I am all about empowerment and confidence. I think it can be summed up as this:
- Commit your ways to the Lord. Without continually committing your plans to the Lord, then you are going about your own business. God's way is always better than our own.
- Walk in your purpose. Your talent, gifts, and vision all equate to your purpose. Your purpose is what you are here to accomplish while here. If you do not know what your purpose is yet, then begin with praising God.
- Clarify your vision and execute it daily. Without really knowing your purpose, it is hard to articulate your vision. However, once you are in tune with your purpose and can clearly see your vision, then you can embrace it and execute it confidently.
- Believe in the impossible. Being a visionary takes a child-like faith. People will wear you down and you will begin to doubt yourself, but stand firm in what you believe and you will see the impossible take place.
- Walk and talk with surety and just be confident. The last point sums up itself!
So I hope sharing this will inspire you to continue moving forward on your journey. Whatever it is that you seem fearful of or is just outside of your comfort zone, work towards it. One day people will think you're a natural at it when in all reality you worked hard for it.
Broken Crayons Color Better In Christ
by: Ruthan Mckenzie
Have you ever witnessed young children coloring? At some point, the inevitable will happen where a crayon will break. For some small children it is heart breaking if it is there favorite color. Nonetheless, you will never see a young child stop coloring forever because one crayon broke. They may fuss, but if it is their favorite crayon they'll continue to use that crayon.
I love the analogy of the broken crayon still coloring. When we get older we begin to lose our ability to dream and life begins to break us down, year after year. Eventually we begin to forget we are beautiful and created to shine. We can still be used for remarkable things when we yield to our Creator who can restore us to fullness. It does not matter how we became broken beings, we can still be used for greatness.
In Psalm 51, King David is writing of his brokenness. At this time, he had sinned and felt the remorse of his actions and was brokenhearted for his actions. Even in his brokenness, he knew that God could restore him when he repented and sacrificed his broken heart to Christ. King David knew that his broken and contrite heart could draw him closer to the Lord instead of driving him further away. The sacrifices of God can be our broken spirit and through the broken pieces light can shine through.
Today, in this moment, your future is brighter. Your broken pieces can be used for more than regret and shame, but instead to inspire and uplift another soul. Brokenness brings us closer to Christ. At the valley, the lowest point, the Lord restores when you hand those broken pieces to Him. If you don't believe this, perhaps in time you will, but know broken crayons still color.
*They work even better for the fulfillment of God's purpose in our lives through Christ.
Perfect Practice Makes Perfect
by: Ruthann Mckenzie
I would like to think that I can practice something all day long and learn how to do it. For instance, I love food. I love trying new foods and occasionally whipping up something in my kitchen. I can make a good cheesecake, I can make a good lasagna...or any pasta dish...but I am far from a chef! I could spend countless hours in the kitchen and practice, but eventually I will want to leave to do something I truly enjoy, like photography or binge watching Netflix.
On the other hand, my brother can step into the kitchen and with no recipe create a masterpiece. He has been cooking since he was 5...yep, 5 (my sister in law is lucky). He has practices his skills over the years and became perfect at them. Perfect practice has proven perfect in his case. It is as if cooking is instinctual for him. However, photography is more instinctual for me and I could (and do on occasion) bore people with all things photography related. Why? Because my perfect practice has proven to make it perfect.
Now I use the word perfect loosely. No one is perfect in any one thing. My point is that if something is not your passion or your calling, you can practice and work at that one thing for an eternity. At best, you may become mediocre at it. Yet, you are not here on earth for mediocre. Why settle at being a mediocre chef when you could be a fantastic photographer? Or vice versa...or whatever it is that you are great at and love to do that others cannot complete like you.
And yes, there will be other people that possess your skills. However, there is only one you. So what you bring to the table will always be unique and will command attention. So work on the things in your life that you know you can dominate. Wake up your inner self and be conscious of your gifts and talents and own them.
4 Scriptures For Success
by: April D. Byrd
A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls. (Proverbs 25:28 ESV)
- Don’t let the devil have control, it leads to complete destruction in the end.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)
- If you are able to be in control of yourself, you don’t have to be under any law or authority, of anyone else. You don’t have to be in anyone’s subjection.
For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. (Romans 8:13 ESV)
- Allow God’s spirit in you to help you make the right decisions. If you overcome your flesh and gain discipline in your spirit you will be completely healthy in your mind, body, and soul.
For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, (2 Corinthians 4:17)
- Ex: Waiting for something takes patience, but once we get what we've waited for it’s really worth it and it benefits us and makes us richer. Exercising patience and discipline for a moment is hard, but the things we think are worth it over here imagine how much better it’s going to be. When we live to please God and finally reach His promise that He has for us. It’s going to be amazing. So work to be please God and do His will.
