Kingdomwood Women In Films Picnic Series Returns With Author Debra Winans

Kingdomwood Women In Films is kicking off the summer and the festival season by returning with their KWIF Celebrity Picnic Series. The first picnic back, will take place at 11 am ET Saturday June 4, 2022 in Smyrna, Georgia. 

Dr. Debra Winans, a well known Media CEO and Celebrated Author will be a Special Guest at the picnic, in addition to more from the Atlanta Film and Entertainment Industry. Other guests will include Audrey Littleton, the Founder of KWIF, Filmmaker and Acting Coach Ashley Johnson, along with key members of KWIF.

Kingdomwood Women In Films, a worldwide network, based in Georgia is an organization partnered with Kingdomwood Film Festival, a festival that promotes family-friendly teachings and values following the Gospel. 

The Festival is hosted in October every year and has welcomed several famed, Award-winning and notable celebrities. 

The Celebrity Picnic Basket series takes place each month to cultivate growth, community, and assistance among women in the Film and Media Industry.

Each attendee of the picnic is encouraged to prepare a unique picnic basket that suits them and their taste as they participate. The compilation and individuality of the baskets warrant special prizes from the KWIF Community.

Tyler Perry Pays Off Layaway Accounts For Christmas

Producer, Actor, Director Tyler Perry aimed to make sure more than a thousand strangers have a very merry Christmas this year.

He revealed on Instagram recently that he paid off all the items people had on layaway at a pair of Atlanta-area Walmarts as a Christmas surprise.

"I know it's hard times and a lot of people are struggling," Perry said in the video. "I'm just really really grateful to be able to be in a situation to do this. So God bless you. Go get your stuff."

The "Madea" star paid for all items that were registered on layaway through 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, telling people they only had to pay one penny when they went to pick them up.

Walmart said in a statement to TODAY:

"Tyler Perry’s generous donation is making an unbelievable difference for so many families, and we can’t thank him enough for his kindness,'' "The heartfelt excitement and joy we’re seeing from our customers as a result of his holiday gift has been touching."

Store Associates got to witness how amazing the power of generosity is BIG TIME. Kindness is a gift that keeps on giving! Way to go Tyler Perry!

As women most of us were taught to be strong, independent and goal oriented creatures. However, there aren't too many workshops or seminars for servitude or even when not to lead, but to learn to follow! We are taught to be on the front lines for everything...to carry the cross. After experiencing a trying time in her business, one of Leslie Wright's darkest periods, she learned a great deal about the dynamics of trust, loyalty, principle, and strength.

A great lesson came from the aspect of Sheep: Sheep aren't weak, they are trusting their is a difference. Knowing when to lead and when to follow is critical to a woman's virtue. So sometimes being a sheep isn't so bad... when you're following the right person!

The Art Walk for Pathway is a Creative Arts, Fine Arts, and Jewelry Auction event taking place to gain support and raise awareness for Pathway Home for Women. Pathway Home is an organization that cares for Women 18-38 who desire to break free from life-controlling Issues, primarily drug and alcohol abuse, and other destructive patterns of living. Pathway Home provides healing of the heart and training for the future.

Reload Teen Conference (Event)

Had such a great time at the kick off of the Reload Teen Conference 2014! Reload conference is presented by the Heat Teens of Mt. Olive Outreach Ministries. The event is facilitating Christian youth empowerment for many young people within the community. The launch event featured Gospel hip-hop artists J-south, Gospel Praise & Worship Leader Sandrel, the Tabernacle Of Joy Steppers, with a powerful message by Minister Deon Moore...and THAT was just the beginning!

The conference is continuing on with other special guests like Worship Leader Korey Bowie, Minister Mike Owens, and the Heat Teen's own Mr. Versee! It's also fully loaded with door prizes and giveaways, not to mention good food, sponsored by restaurants like Little Caesars and Chic-Fil-A. The conference is continuing on throughout the weekend, ending on June 21st. 

I had a  great time, with great fun and good people! Being empowered with other young people, having a good time in God, and Winning the latest brand new Lecrae CD and other goodies is not a bad way to leave the first day of a conference.

The 2014 Delivered Music Festival happening in Fayetteville, GA. this Saturday June 14,  is a Christian Music Festival Event. Come out to be Inspired and Empowered by 15 AMAZING Christian artists in a Free concert event!

10 Scriptures To Help Brighten Up Your Day

Life has a number of ups and down. Most low moments are rather spontaneous and unpredictable. God’s will for the human race is to have life in abundance and to enjoy every minute of it. No matter how your day starts, something can happen that may upset or intrigue you and consequently mess up your emotions. Below are some of the bible verses that you may consider meditating upon to get through a bad day.

• I Peter 5:6, 7 ‘’ Humble yourself therefore under the mighty hand of God that He may exalt you in due time.’’

When you feel things happening to you are unfair or you are being treated as slave at your workplace, this verse tells you that God is watching, and He cares about you. If you will continue enduring in faith, in due time, He will deliver your breakthrough.

• Philippians 4:13 ‘’I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’’

This is one of the most powerful verses in the Bible. Whenever you face a tough challenge, which you normally don’t have what it takes to conquer, contemplate on this verse. The inspiration behind it verse will work your faith and assure you that you are not alone but with the ultimate conqueror. You and Jesus are a majority.

• Mathew 11:28-30 ‘’ Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

When you feel the whole world is crushing down on you, this is the verse to meditate upon. It tells you that Jesus knows about your troubles, and He is a savior who is willing to help you out and be your comforter and refuge.

• ‘’Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in you,’’ Psalm 56:3

Many a times the devil will tempt you and frustrate you with fear and anxiety. This verse will encourage you to focus on God rather than your fears. God is greater than your fears. As you trust in God, your troubles grow dim.

• John 15:17 ‘’If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you will ask what you desire and it shall be done for you’’

When Christians allow God’s word to reign supreme in their lives, they touch God’s heart. When a faithful Christian is going through a bad day, this verse gives an assurance of God’s intervention after a prayer.

• Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

This verse is an encouragement that whatever you go through during your day, as a Christian, you are not alone. God is watching. He is with you and will see you through it all to the end.

• Jeremiah 17: 14 ‘’Heal me, Lord, that I may be healed; save me that I may be saved, for it is you whom I praise’’

It is through praise and worship that men touch God’s heart and unleash His mighty power. The verse will uplift you no matter the condition you find yourself in during a bad day.

• ‘’The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not lack,’’ Psalm 23:1This verse encourages you on a day you feel insufficient. When you trust in God to provide for your needs, you indeed can never lack, for God is faithful unto his people.

• Romans 5:3 ‘’ And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience’’   On a bad day, this encouraging verse teaches Christians to maintain a positive attitude towards challenges. God brings both joy and sorrow. If your day is sour, God has a reason for it, and He is working on your character. Take it positively.

• Psalm 37:23-24 ‘’ Those whose steps are guided by the Lord, whose way God approves, May stumble but they will never fall, for the Lord holds their hand’’

If failing at some task has messed up your day, don’t let it get you down. Failure is not final; it’s just a stumble, not a fall.

• Hebrews 10:36 “You need endurance to do the will of God, and receive what he has promised.”
