The Lord Is Our Shepard Even Through The Slaughter

In Romans 8:36 Paul likens us (GOD's people) to sheep for the slaughter.

"As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter."

It's a reference to what King David exclaims in Psalm 44:22, to which at the end of Chapter 44 King David is requesting: " Arise for our help, and redeem us for your mercies sake.".

It was only GOD that kept us in 2022, was keeping us prior to it, and is keeping us now.

The Lord is our keeper and we see the beauty of it, we appreciate it and it's celebrated when we wanna be kept.

In Luke 15, Jesus gives a parable of a Shepard leaving the 99 to save the one. It says, but there is even more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than 99 people who need no repentance.

In actuality we all need repentance, but look at what happens when we do: Rejoicing! Our Shepard, our Leader, our King rejoices. All of heaven rejoices.

Jesus (Yahushua) is our leader, and Jesus himself because of His innocence was referred to as a lamb.

Jesus is the lamb of GOD who is really our Shepard. He is called the lamb as He was the Holy sacrifice. He is also our Shepard.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them." - John 10:1-6

How amazing is that?! He knows our names. Each of us, He knows by name.

"I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father." - John 10: 11-18

King David who had firsthand experience as a Shepard, said: "The Lord is my Shepard". Those were the very first words out of his mouth in Psalm 23. "The Lord is my Shepard, I shall not want".

Where The Lord causes me to lie down, the pastures are green (abundant life), the water are still (peace). "He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake". GOD leads us in the way of righteousness.

Even though we might go through a lot. The Lord is our Shepard that leads us and takes care of us. The Lord has our backs.
