Ezekiel 1 Synopses

The First Chapter of Ezekiel introduces the Priest Ezekiel, who is also a prophet, right as Ezekiel is having a prophetic vision. The book goes in depth as Ezekiel describes everything he saw; fantastical sights. He is in a vision looking at all this awe and majesty that includes a living creature, which seems to be a combination of sorts and the surrounding is glorious rainbows, precious gems, lightning, bright lights, we can only imagine. By the end of the chapter Ezekiel has an encounter with God, in the form he describes:

 "and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man. 27I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded him. 28Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him."

When Ezekiel sees God he falls down in honor, to give God reverence. As he is face down, He hears the voice of God speak...
