Recently, The Christian Post shared an article that included Pastor Jamal Bryant's opinion on Sage. According to Pastor Bryant he researched it and came back with the practice that Native Americans specifically use called smudging.
I personally don't think there is a problem with burning sage, but Dr. Bryant went more in depth with his understanding against burning sage. I've shared the full video below of the sermon where the Pastor is sharing his insight.
The interesting thing is that some people in the comments in the video were initially agreeing with him at the beginning of the video when he was talking about the purifying and protecting benefits of sage.

I do agree that GOD is the ultimate power and authority over everything, even sage. Do I agree with some components of the message Pastor Bryant shared, yes!
