You Got The Power!!

for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. - 1 Timothy 1:7

So many times we hear it quoted solely that God didn't give us a spirit of fear. We can't stop there. There is more to the scripture.  God puts His spirit in us, the more we seek it, the more it's revealed. There is a spirit that takes over every other spirit. It overcomes every spirit. 

We have to seek the spirit that overcomes every other. God has given us this spirit. So it's not about what we don't have, it's about what we do have. We have a spirit of love, power, and peace. When we seek God the these spirits are magnified in us. They yield fruit. They are the fruit of the spirit of God. see Galatians 5:22.  We have to pray and come before God to know and become familiar with His spirit. God chasing is a good thing.

God has not given us a spirit of fear but a spirit of power, love, and self-control. We can overcome.Scriptures says "No temptation has overtaken you that's. Greater than you're able to handle.

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.-1 Corinthians 10:13 

Sometimes we want the semblance or the idea of power, but we don't really want the substance of it. True power is in the spirit of God. Pray, Arm yourself, Go in the power and presence of God. Build your physical and spiritual muscles. God is light at times we tend to shy away from the light...it's too bright for us and we don't want to go into it. We get scared and complacent, but it's the light of God that cuts through and annihilates the darkness. Hebrews says "Our God is a consuming fire" but that fire isn't there to harm us in fact it's to burn away everything that we do need. It's the fire of God that ignites our passion. By all means go into the light and don't be afraid of it. You were made for greatness!!
